Open position: Sustainabilty Expert

Location: Milan

We are looking for a sustainability expert to join the Engineering Services – Environment and Sustainability technical department as a designer/technician in the design of civil infrastructure works (roads, motorways and railways) with the objective of assessing the environmental impact of the life cycle of the works and collaborating in the introduction of eco-efficiency and sustainability criteria in the design process

Main responsibilities

The resource will:

  • estimate the carbon footprint of the work in relation to its life cycle and contribute to the achievement of climate targets
  • estimate the life cycle assessment of the work from a circular economy perspective
  • draft the sustainability reports for the works
  • draft the ‘Do No Significant Harm’ (DNSH) principle

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical-scientific subject
  • At least two to three years of experience in similar roles, preferably at structured companies or consultancy firms
  • Knowledge of environmental law and its application
  • Knowledge of the Green Deal targets and the EU regulations on the Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance
  • Knowledge of international Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies and standards and use of related computer programmes
  • Knowledge of methodologies for measuring and reporting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and use of related computer programmes
  • Proficient in processing, drafting, and reading graphic and technical drawings

Other skills required

  • Envision SP qualification
  • Good proficiency in English required
  • Knowledge and use of AutoCAD and GIS platforms, possible experience in the use of environmental models
  • Registration as an architect/engineer or willingness to register
  • Thrives in a team environment
  • Must have determination and be results oriented
